The SHINE Initiative provides funding and leadership for prototypical programming models in order to provide initial results necessary to prove effectiveness and replicate across the country.

Spotlight: Mental Health First Aid USA

We are pleased to announce our financial support and commitment to bring “Mental Health First Aid USA” to North Central Massachusetts through a strategic alliance with Community Healthlink. This Program originated in Australia and is designed to help people provide initial support for someone with a mental health problem and to improve the mental health literacy of the community.

The Program was established in the US in 2008 and is a collaborative effort between the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare, the Maryland State Department of Mental Hygiene and the Missouri Department of Mental Health.

It is anticipated that this program will be offered on our local college campuses and throughout our communities in 2011.
