In the Spotlight: An Un-Gala for Youth Mental Health

The In the Spotlight: An Un-Gala for Youth Mental Health is our signature fundraising event that will be held on
October 14, 2020. We are thrilled to welcome Sean Astin, film actor, director, voice artist and producer, as the keynote speaker for our Un-Gala. He is best known for iconic roles of resilience & everyday heroism including: Samwise Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Mikey Walsh in The Goonies, the title character in Rudy, and Bob Newby in Netflix’s Stranger Things. The son of legendary actress Patty Duke, Mr. Astin is a vocal advocate for mental health education and for ending the stigma of mental illness. Please visit our event site for tickets, sponsorship info, and more details.

Friends & Family Pay It Forward Days

Friends & Family Pay It Forward Days are held twice a year usually during school breaks.
They are a chance for people to gather as a community in support of youth mental health with interactive activities to support others in the community, such as assembling fidgets, stress relievers, and/or emotion stations for Shine to pass on to youth in the community. And of course each attendee can take home one of their own as well.

Shine Young Professional Networking Events

Shine Young Professional Networking events are currently held once or twice a year as we build our network. They are relaxed after work events with two purposes: traditional networking for attendees to advance their careers or grow their network, and for attendees to learn a bit about Shine’s work and ways they can help to advance it (i.e., serving as social media ambassadors, connecting us with potential corporate sponsors, volunteering their expertise on a standalone project, attending other events).
