If we had it our way,
we would already be in every school.

Having conversations with each student, faculty and staff member, and all of the parents and caregivers about the importance of talking honestly about mental health.

Until that happens (don’t worry, we’re working on it!), we want you to have access to as much information as possible. The Shine Initiative created what we like to call a Mental Health Toolkit. Just like a contractor’s toolkit contains necessary items for different tasks (hammer, screwdriver, wrench, etc.), our toolkit contains the necessary items you might need to understand and talk about Mental Health and Mental Illness.

Things like Warnings Signs, How to Talk to Someone You’re Worried About and Coping Skills can all be found in the Toolkit. Use it for yourself and share it with others—
