There is nothing funny about
the pain of struggling with mental illness.

But a mental health condition doesn’t define someone, and a little humor can go a long way in reassuring us that we are not alone.

While laughter may not “be the BEST medicine,” it can be a great coping tool for many. Our hope is to bring light to mental health and lived experience through shared smiles and laughter rather than making light OF mental illness.

So, we promise to curate this page carefully. Laughing with (us included), not at.

Hopefully, it will make you smile a little.

Yeah, so I’m bipolar…you know who else is?

The EARTH. The Earth is bipolar. Also, little known fact, the SUN. And not only is the sun bipolar, get this, it completely flips its poles every decade or so. So yeah, I think I’m doing alright.

People want to know...

“So what are you working on? What’s going on with you? What’s the next page? What’s coming up for you? What’s on the horizon?” And I say: ‘Oh. I’m done. . . . Yeah, I finished early. I’m actually living in a gravy boat filled with delicious gravy.”

Bold of me to constantly use the phrase “no worries!”...

when I am, in fact, constantly full of many, many worries.

I suffer from depression...

Or, as my father calls it, “no, you don’t.”

Therapist: "So how depressed would you say you’ve been feeling lately?"

Me: “I don’t care anymore if my foot hangs over the bed where a monster can get it”
